Blessing Smudge Stick

Mountain sage, white sage and sagebrush bundled together and tied by hand. Three sages rather than one, which gives it a rounder, less medicinal smoke than white sage alone.

How to use it: Light the tip, let it catch for a few seconds, then blow the flame out so it smolders. Work the edges of a room first and finish at the door. Open a window before you start — smoke needs somewhere to go.

• Burn over a shell or heatproof dish, never unattended
